Family Business
Initially founded in 2005, DriveWise has helped drivers across Canada become safer and more skilled on the road.
In 2023, we launched a family-run location in Newmarket. Our families entrepreneurial journey started in our home country with a tourism business of over 25 years. Soon after that, we moved to the Gulf where we explored the country while working in the marketing industry. Next, we moved to Canada where we have been living, working, studying, and enjoying life. Opening our driving school is the most exciting thing we have done for our family, community, and the next generation of drivers in Canada.

Meet The Team
At DriveWise Newmarket, we don’t just teach driving — we live and breathe the values that shape responsible, empowered drivers. Our instructors are selected not only for their certifications, but for their commitment to these core principles:
Fida has an educational background of an ECE Diploma and an office/medical administration diploma from Georgian College, graduating with honours in both. Her professional career began as a teacher, then progressed to supervisor at a school for over 16 years, followed by 13 years in administration. Working alongside DriveWise Barrie, Fida felt inspired and motivated to open her own driving school with her family, so she did just that!
Tarek began his career in the tourism industry, where he owned and operated a travel agency for over 25 years. After moving to Canada, Tarek worked as a warehouse manager for fresh produce. He got inspired to run his own business again, but instead of taking on the air, he decided to take on the road and opened up Drivewise Newmarket. Tarek is very enthusiastic about his new venture!
Omar has an educational background in IT and Digital Design, which has provided him with great insight into the behind-the-scenes aspects of animation, image creation, device development, and more. This allows Omar to view things through more than just one lens. Omar believes in connecting with people by acknowledging that “one size does not fit all”. This approach enables him to communicate effectively with students and ensure that the lessons are tailored to fit the students’ needs best.
Media has a passion for education, she has a major in Honours Peace and Conflict Studies and Mathematical Studies, and minoring in Speech Communication. She has obtained a Masters in Peace and Conflict studies, a teaching degree, and a certification for teaching ESL, enabling her to travel the world and share her extensive knowledge. With the support of her loving husband, Media is able to share her extensive cultural and educational experiences with the rest of us, equipping her with the tools to manage everything related to DriveWise Newmarket behind the scenes.
Born in 2015, Sully originally came from Quebec and made his way to Ontario, where he joined our family in 2017. Since then, he has brought joy, laughter, and comfort to all of us. Greets us when we come home, sleeping alongside us, begging for belly rubs, and even playing fetch! Sully is more than a cat to us; he is family.

What really stood out was he pulled out a whiteboard to draw diagrams so I could clearly understand what I was doing wrong! he didn’t just tell me and hoped I understood. He would stop to ask me questions like, “whose right of way is it here?”, “why are you allowed to do xyz here?” and these questioned really helped me understand WHY I was making certain choices while driving.
DriveWise is a family-owned business, and it shows in how much they care about teaching — not just the rules, but also road anxiety and mindset. New drivers in the Newmarket-Aurora area are very lucky to have them. I also really appreciate that their car was very clean and clearly treated as a professional business vehicle, not a personal one.
